Charles Tamulynas, February 27, 2024 Obituary

Charles “Charlie” J. Tamulynas, 89 of Rockland, passed away peacefully at South Shore Hospital on February 27, 2024. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth (Skinner) Tamulynas with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Loving father to Lynne Goulart and her husband Chris of Braintree, Chuck Tamulynas and his wife Josie of Pembroke and Paul Tamulynas of Weymouth. He was preceded in passing by his son Mark Tamulynas. He is survived by 8 grandchildren: Lisa Panetta, Christopher Goulart, Michael Goulart, Chuck Tamulynas, Paul Coolen, Nicole White, Derek Coolen and Robert Goulart. He is also survived by a great-grandchild, Rocco Panetta.

Charlie was born in Cambridge to the late Charles and Anna (Raustis) Tamulynas. He was preceded in passing by his sister Ann Shakalis. Charlie honorably served our country in the United States Army as Corporal shortly after the Korean war. During his service, he was selected to be in the Honor Guard, a designation he was always very proud of. He worked in various positions for Liberty Mutual, where he met his wife, Bette. His career spanned 37 years until his retirement in 1992. One of his passions was cooking. He would prepare meals from scratch for his family on weekends and holidays and was known for making the best gravy his family ever tasted. He always said the secret ingredient in his cooking was love. Charlie was also and avid sports fan. He really enjoyed watching and following the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. He would tell stories of walking to Fenway Park from his home in Cambridge when he was a teenager. He also used to be a frequent caller on local sports radio talk shows. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him.

A private service will be held at a later date.
