James "Butch" Roche age 74, from Stoughton passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. Born in Everett, Butch worked for forty years as a manager for the MDC / DCR at swimming pools, skating rinks, beaches, ball fields, and more recently the Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton MA until his retirement in 2014.  Butch was a devoted and passionate fan of the NE Patriots.   His sense of humor brightened the lives of everyone he touched. Butch was a lover of cats and was known for taking in and caring for strays. He also liked to cook and play the numbers.

He is survived by his longtime companion Carole Foley of Stoughton. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St., Whitman on Saturday Mar. 19 ^th 4-7:30 pm.

A funeral service will follow at 7:30 in the funeral home. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
