Rita M. (Thornton) Lanata of East Bridgewater passed away Saturday December 8, 2012. She was 96. Wife of the late John C. Lanata. Loving mother of Mary Lanata of Dorchester, Rita Perry of Halifax, John C. Lanata, Jr. of Sandwich, and June Lanata-Rogers of East Bridgewater. Sister of Alice Diggin of Norwood and the late Barbara Gibbons. Also survived by her grandchildren Robert, John, and Frank Perry, John Lanata III, Susanne Lanata, Marlena, Angela and Michael Rogers, and great-grandmother of 10.

Visiting hours in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St, Whitman on Thursday Dec. 13 ^th 4-8 pm.

Funeral Mass Friday in St. John the Evangelist Church in East Bridgewater at 10 am.

Interment at New Calvary Cemetery in Dorchester.
